At Cersaie 2024 trade fair with Marca Corona. Design, trends and sustainability for the future of ceramics

Under the theme "A space for architectural design”, Cersaie 2024 served as a catalyst for exploring new experiences driven by the gentle touch of nature and conscious innovation.

As the leading international event for the ceramic surface industry, this year's edition once again sets the pace for future trends, showcasing ground-breaking innovations that push the limits of design.

The Cersaie 2024 trade fair showcased the growing significance of interior and exterior design that creates harmony, with an increasingly ethical approach that focuses on the relationship between people, the environment, and living spaces.

In this sense, Marca Corona's message and the proposals presented at the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings is to embrace nature with joy, making it an integral part of design through collections that reveal its full potential while following the latest sustainable trends.

Inspired by nature and art: our solutions for contemporary architecture at Cersaie Bologna 2024

With Joy of Nature, the Marca Corona booth at Cersaie Bologna 2024 expresses matter and the environment engaging in a fascinating dialogue, inspired by a fusion of nature and art to give rise to novel design solutions for contemporary architecture.

The focal point is an all-encompassing sensory experience, not just visual but above all tactile, generating a sense of well-being in every corner of the spaces we inhabit, whether residential or commercial.

With Feeling at home, our perspective had already involved a more personal and intimate approach to indoor and outdoor design, which has now evolved even further into new conceptual, aesthetic, and functional frontiers. Here, individual feelings are incorporated into a desire to be part of a universe of emotions, colours, and variety that longs to be discovered, understood, and shared.

Inspired by the Joy of Nature, our vision is to celebrate simplicity as a natural state of being, highlighting the unique characteristics of materials, values the inherent characteristics of matter, a true expression of uniqueness and an authentic beauty that is also the essence of joy.

Unfired earth, the effects of water, games of light and shadow, and the vibrant colours of pigments gifted to us by Mother Nature form the foundation of the proposals presented at Cersaie 2024.

A choice that makes Marca Corona surfaces a manifesto of conscious sustainability and ethics, where tiles are no longer mere decorative elements but true works of artistic design that transform spaces, merging cutting-edge technologies, traditional craftsmanship, and low-impact environmental processes.

Design and sustainability with Marca Corona’s most anticipated collections

The most eagerly awaited collections by Marca Corona which thrilled visitors to our Booth C76-D75, in Exhibition Hall 37 include the new autumn/winter ranges for the 2024 and 2025 season.

All inspired by the Joy of Nature, these proposals offer an exciting journey into the latest texture and colour trends captivating architects, designers, and industry professionals.

Indeed, we presented surfaces that interact with light in surprising ways, creating breath-taking visual effects, along with watercolour inspirations and three-dimensional textures ranging from terracotta to terracotta- and concrete-effect with trowel patterns.

We unveil them below:

Arialuce

Marca Corona’s first collection of terracotta lattice tiles, in partnership with Fornace S.Anselmo brickworks. Inspired by traditional craftsmanship and reinterpreted with a contemporary twist, Arialuce is designed to "show without revealing" with various shapes and sizes that compose captivating patterns for self-standing or integrated designer screens, also usable as an occasional element or wall covering.

In this perspective, Arialuce delves into the third dimension by crafting intricate lattice structures, composed of countless patterns and a play of blocks and voids, creating a sense of volume while allowing air and light to dance freely.

Arialuce creates a dialogue between terracotta and porcelain stoneware, starting from their common origin: clay.

The water that mixes this clay and the fire that compacts it unite these two materials, enabling them to coexist attractively in a single design vision.

Within the 1741 line, the collection expands with the introduction of the new Lesagome container and a trio of extruded terracotta lattice shapes: Arialuce Curve, Arialuce Pertuse and Arialuce Asole (or “Curve”, “Chink” and “Slot” shapes), available in Naturale, Avorio, or white glazed Glassa finishes.

Calcecreta

All the beauty of imperfection is expressed in the new Calcecreta proposal, inspired by the Wabi-Sabi philosophy and which reinterprets the ancient painting technique of limewash, through an authentic, understated, yet never austere language, indeed comfortable, because imbued with collective memory.

Complementing the rich texture of limewash, Calcecreta offers a tactile experience through the use of natural shades: pigments, subtle trowelled effects and delicate bas-relief decorations create a collection boasting a particularly textured surface.

By prioritising natural materials, architecture and design are creating interiors that seamlessly blend with the outdoors. These spaces blur the lines between inside and outside, fostering a deeper connection with nature.

Calcecreta offers an extensive range of floor and wall covering solutions:

  • 5 sizes - from 30x60 to 120x278 cm
  • 5 shades - Spuma, Argilla, Bisque, Terracotta and Selva.
  • 2 thickness versions
  • 2 finishes

Longarine

The small rectangular size, in its most complete and inclusive expression, continues to amaze thanks to project Longarine.

The 9 colour variants of the Longarine Brio collection - which premièred at Coverings 2024 - have been supplemented by a new inspiration drawn from limewash: Longarine Calcecreta.

Launched at Cersaie, Longarine Calcecreta introduces 7 new shades to underscore the versatility of compositions afforded by earthy tones, for use both as flooring and wall tiling

Longarine therefore supplements the universe of elongated 7.5x60 cm bricks where colour dances with light, creating a vibrant and dynamic surface, even in the palest hues.

This also expands the choice of installation layouts, offering endless possibilities for creating creative and customised patterns, including linear, alternating, and chevron designs, with joints that can vary in width and with matching or contrasting colour.

Velo

Velo transfers the delicacy of watercolour onto monoporous white body surfaces.

Inspired by the magic of painting, this decorative design collection transforms blank canvases into unprecedented and captivating works of art. Watercolours dance across the surface, creating harmonious designs that are both unique and beautiful.

Velo thus reveals surfaces with an original and expressive allure, thanks to the 50x120 cm size that guarantees continuity as well as hard-wearing resistance and durability.

The colour options in this collection go in 2 directions:

  • the first, with the Carta, Lino, Ninfea and Abisso colours, offers versatile shades that adapt easily to any context.

  • the second, with a slightly uneven yet highly decorative appearance, provides a sensory delight for both touch and sight. The Onda Verde, Onda Blu, Onda Beige and Onda Mixture variants offer elegant tone-on-tone alternations, ideal for adding personality to walls of all sizes with a distinctive artistic touch.

At Cersaie 2024 too, Marca Corona's innovative and design-oriented solutions stand out for their compositional freedom and endless Mix&Match possibilities, from the small 6x24 cm size to large 120x278 cm slabs, with an ease of combination that makes it even easier to create new spaces to suit the taste and preferences of each individual customer.
