The My Chef catering chain chose to renew both the assortment and the appearance of its Parma service station, focusing on customers’ needs and the creation of a modern, extremely practical facility. After the success of the first restyling near Lodi, this project was again entrusted to the experience and creativity of Studio Riboli. The architects made skilful use of Marca Corona ceramic coverings, employing the company’s porcelain stoneware collections to transform the interiors, making them even more attractive and convenient.
The renovation, which took several months, expanded the floor area by 500 m2 and embraced the bar and restaurant area, the toilets and the retail store.
The porcelain stoneware floor tiles of the Multiforme concrete-effect collection, in Mica and Carbone variants, now pave both the bar area and the toilet foyer. With their eye-catching, contemporary patterning, the large-size slabs give a touch of modernity with durability, perfect for a heavily-used location subject to many different forms of stress.
The walls of the bar and retail store were finished with the Miniature Soda collection in Bianco Sale shade. Inspired by the ancient techniques of craft glassmaking, this series of brick tiles generates interplays of light and reflections that add an irregular beauty to design schemes, making every interior truly unique.
In contrast, the floor of the corridor leading to the toilets is covered with Overclay concrete-effect tiles in Dark shade, a colour that emphasises the interior’s elegance while ensuring unbeatable durability and ease of cleaning, both essential factors for a service station.
The Marca Corona ceramic tiles, with their different textures and finishes, are the crucial ingredient in a successful restyling project that not only meets functional needs but also improves the aesthetics of the entire service station, transforming it into a location carefully designed down to the tiniest details, to offer travellers refreshment after a long journey.
