Italian style is back in the forefront at Maison&Objet – Paris, where it’s on display in the Collective Exhibition by Ceramics of Italy, the brand that represents the very best of the Italian ceramics industry throughout the world.

The event is organised by Confindustria Ceramica and Edi.Cer. in collaboration with ICE, the Italian Trade Agency.

Ceramics of Italy brings together Italy’s top companies in the sector, able to combine tradition with innovation and quality with creativity, in order to create not simply products, but authentic high-tech design elements, manufactured according to the highest quality, performance and environmental protection standards.

Once again this year, Marca Corona will be present at Maison&Objet, the prestigious showcase for new styles in home decor, interior design and lifestyle, where it will be presenting its new 100% Italian-crafted floor and wall tile collections: Lagom, Ossidi, Bold, Chalk and Terra.

The slogan for this new edition – devised by the Nelly Rodi agency – is "Excuse my French!", in honour of the renewed interest in French culture, a phenomenon prompted by globalisation and which regards a variety of sectors, from furnishings to fashion, as well as food and architecture. According to Vincent Grégoire, Creative Director of the Lifestyle Department at Nelly Rodi, “In a world where everything is becoming increasingly standardised, it’s people who create something different…” and Maison&Objet is ready to offer just that!

The new drivers of Interior Design and Lifestyle

Last autumn’s edition of Maison & Objet brought in over 90,000 visitors, including international buyers, architects and designers. The key focus was on the functionalist concept of “beautiful and useful” and the “Virtuous” ecological theme, featuring sustainable design crafted with natural materials and “clean” techniques.

Intimate, eco-friendly design

Together with a rediscovery of the natural element and closer attention to the environment, 2019 will also be marked by a rediscovery of a warm, cosy, domestic dimension, a “Back to Basics” approach with the accent on simplicity and harmony. Leading the field in lifestyle trends in the “Mindful Home” concept, a fresh approach to the home experience with a clear predilection for re-design or high-tech materials able to guarantee superior technical performance and lower environmental impact. The tiles with the Ceramics of Italy trademark are undoubtedly among these practical and at the same time ethical products.

Back to Basics

This Back to Basics approach to the home is embodied by the Lagom collection of wood-effect porcelain stoneware floor and wall coverings by Marca Corona, on show at Maison & Objet 2019. All the beauty of natural oak has been faithfully reproduced on 15x120 listel tiles, for an exquisitely Nordic look.

Lagom is the perfect response to the demand for a “Back to Basics” and “Mindful” look: a simple, cosy touch of elegance, in three warm, natural, classic shades, selected to bring a touch of beauty to residential settings, and three cooler, coated nuances with a contemporary, designer allure. The natural surfaces are embellished with geometric and floral decorations, featuring beautifully light graphic patterns created by the interplay between fullness and void.

Maison&Objet was the perfect opportunity for Marca Corona to present Ossidi, the new porcelain stoneware floor and wall collection conceived with the most innovative designers in mind, offering bright, glossy, intense colour.

Ossidi makes decoration a must, offering a highly original take in new trends, starting from the diamond shape. The cementine tiles in the 1741 Line are thus a triumph of colour, material and graphic performance with a retro flavour. The glossy glazes, with a deliberately irregular application, bring a more confident character to the neutral, shaded, dusty nuances of the Ossidi base tiles.

The decor elements are inspired by the hand-crafted cementine tiles of nineteenth-century buildings, paying tribute to the finest Italian ceramic tradition and giving it a fresh, ultra-glam twist.

Colour and 3D surfaces

Visitors to Maison&Objet will also have the chance to admire some rich, full-bodied, distinctly voluminous options.

The triumph of the 3D look – a popular design feature in recent years – continues to lay down the law in 2019 for the finest interior design projects. At the Collective Exhibition hosted by Maison&Objet, Marca Corona will be offering its own personal take on the 3D wall with the audacious, brand-new Bold collection of on-trend wall coverings.

Bold is all about colour, with its strikingly beautiful 40x80 tiles coming in a series of intense, retro colours such as white, sage, marsala and mustard, available in a stain-look surface with a relief linear or circle pattern, specially studied to bring a vibrant touch to single-colour settings, creating original, distinctive contrasts and eye-catching geometric 3D effects.
