Third time’s a charm - once again, Marca Corona has won the prestigious ADA award in the “Finishes” category with the new Terrasale square tile collection.
Who are the winners of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2025?
The meaning of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2025
Now in its 10th edition, the Archiproducts Design Awards also celebrate the 25th anniversary of Archiproducts — a platform that has become an international icon of design and an enduring promoter of innovation, project quality, and creative excellence.
In line with these values, the ADAs are a major annual event rewarding architectural and interior design solutions that stand out globally for aesthetics, technology, research, and originality.
The winners are chosen by a carefully selected jury made up of a multidisciplinary panel of renowned architects, designers, creatives, and journalists. They evaluate hundreds of products in 14 categories, including “Finishes,” in which Terrasale triumphed.
The criteria behind the Archiproducts Design Awards
The focus begins with living and professional spaces, where products are evaluated for their excellence in application, interpretative versatility, and emotional and aesthetic impact in design projects, following principles such as:
- Technological innovation
- Aesthetic quality and contextual coherence
- Research and development
- Functionality and ease of use
- Expressive and communicative ability
- Is the result of a dialogue between seemingly opposite elements — as suggested by its name, “Terra + Sale” (Earth + Salt). Terrasale’s glazed porcelain stoneware merges earthy and marine atmospheres, creating its unique speckled Terrazzo effect with a luminous finish.
- Meets users’ needs with tangible practicality, offering a new type of 20x20 cm square tile that is both durable and highly decorative, ideal for floors and walls alike. It allows countless compositions: from mosaics and checkerboard layouts to color-block patterns — ranging from the rigorous order of a square grid to the vibrant mix of colors, shapes, and reflections.
- Tells a story that goes back in time, echoing the name of the line it belongs to: 1741.
This project celebrates the theme of small formats in all their forms, with collections like Terrasale revisiting the vintage inspiration of 20x20 cm square “cementine” and “basaltina” tiles. They are reimagined in a modern way to create welcoming yet characterful spaces filled with a sense of wonder and discovery.
The latest design trends after the 2025 Archiproducts Design Awards
In light of all this, what are the latest design trends revealed by the Archiproducts Design Awards 2025?
Between experience, authenticity, futuristic nostalgia, and versatility, designer ceramics show an evolution that embraces both the historical and identity dimensions of these products — especially through the revival of vintage, retro-style tiles.
Symbols of past atmospheres and strong decorative identity, these tiles find new life through collections with a wide variety of patterns, designs, colors, and materials, redefining versatility without losing their original character.
This includes the checkerboard floor trend, allowing for highly personalized and visually pleasing interiors — from simple monochrome grids to harmonious combinations of different shades.
The award to Terrasale reinforces this direction, giving prominence to the glazed porcelain checkerboard floor.
Another confirmed trend with the ADA 2025 is the speckled Terrazzo effect.
Famous for its composition of different material fragments and its dotted decorative style, this effect now extends beyond surfaces to furniture and accessories alike.
The Terrasale collection fully embraces this concept, reinterpreting it in a fresh, original way through a rich material and cultural mix — blending compact basaltina, marine Limestone, decorative elements, and a broad chromatic palette. The result is a collection that feels both modern and timeless, offering all the durability, quality, and excellence of Made in Italy since 1741.
