Arkislate: porcelain stoneware with the beauty of stratified matter
The art of layering
Arkislate by Marca Corona is inspired by the theme of multi-layers, a focal concept of contemporary design, fashion, film and architecture. Stratification, depth and layering become an architectural language, translating materials’ memory into surfaces that look to the future.
The collection expresses this vision with a fine blend of tradition and innovation. The signs of the past - conserved in the stone’s forms and textures - are transformed into contemporary surfaces, styled to meet the needs of today’s architecture. The result is a dynamic, accessible material that tells a story of sediments, adaptability and transformation. The collection is completed by mosaic dot tiles of 30x30 produced by cutting and the Vibra three-dimensional decor, which extend its decorative and compositional scope.
Stone embodying
the story of matter
Arkislate’s basic patterning is inspired by slate, a metamorphic stone characterised by narrow natural stratified layers that create its visual variety. The language of this material is reinterpreted in deep, tasteful graphic design, where every feature helps to build a surface rich in variegated shades and details.
This structure provides the background for inclusions inspired by sedimentary limestones, such as small fossils and tiny mineral details, which reinforce the realistic impression. The result is a sophisticated three-dimensional surface that evokes the slow action of time on matter.
Contemporary colours
for stone
The collection’s colour palette reinterprets slate in contemporary taste, abandoning the more traditional shades to explore bright, sandy and mineral hues. Enticing pale colours dialogue with deeper, more cosmic shades in an exquisite blend of warmth and refinement.
This variety of hues makes Arkislate particularly versatile in interior design, facilitating combinations with different materials including wood, concrete, metals and monochrome surfaces.
Architectural freedom and continuity
Designed for indoor and outdoor settings, Arkislate provides visual continuity for designing seamless, coherent spaces. Floor and wall coverings dialogue in harmonic interiors where matter becomes an integral part of architecture.
The collection is completed by mosaic dot tiles produced by cutting that retain the patterning of the main surface and extend the decorative scope. The mosaic is ideal for ornamenting walls, alcoves and architectural details with more complex compositions, while maintaining the same stone look.
Arkislate interprets stone as layered memories and visions, transforming natural matter into a contemporary ceramic surface able to adapt to different contexts and recount the passing of time through design.
