Marca Corona’s commitment to safeguarding the environment is always constant and concrete as has been seen by the Ecolabel certification, thanks to which the company is committed to the Green Public Procurement, the European Union policy for the protection of the environment and of the quality of life, the LEED points obtained by the Ecoliving collection and the amount of energy saving and recycling of production and packaging waste. Significant, real figures that express the company’s will to make low-environmental impact products available on the market.
100% RECYCLING OF RAW INDUSTRIAL WASTE
The raw material waste, discarded during the production process, is completely recycled and used to prepare the ceramic mix, thus resulting in a saving in the use of raw materials.
100% RECYCLING OF FIRED INDUSTRIAL WASTE
The fired material waste produced by Marca Corona is sent to external specialised companies to be used as a fill material during the construction of roads.
100% RECYLING OF WATER RECLAIMED DURING INDUSTRIAL PROCESS
Marca Corona’s production process succeeds in the 100% recycling of industrial water produced during our production processes and also uses drain and other surplus water from other ceramic tile companies, for a total 60% saving of this precious natural resource.
100% RECYCLED PACKAGING
All materials used for the packaging of Marca Corona’s products (boxes, hollow-punches, thermo-retractable, pallets and the like) are totally recyclable.
REDUCTION OF POLLUTING EMISSIONS
The huge investments made by Marca Corona in its new production plant, mean that the company can keep gas emissions into the atmosphere at low levels which are even smaller than those required by Italian regulations.
ENERGY SAVING
The technological excellence of the Marca Corona production plant allows for 20% recovery of heat, used in the firing process thus reducing the emissions of green-house gases and the use of fossil fuels, which equals to 1.700 cars being taken off our roads a year. The recovered heat is then re-used both in the production process itself and to heat our offices and work-places.
FAO PALLETS
Marca Corona only uses treated pallets, in compliance with IPCC/FAO ISPM 15 standards, to safeguard the forests and woods of importing countries.
