 A flower for the environment

Logo UNIUNI EN ISO
The production process of Marca Corona is UNI EN ISO certified, a standard which guarantees high levels of quality throughout the production cycle, from the raw materials to the finished product.

Logo EcolabelECOLABEL

Many of the Marca Corona collections bear the ECOLABEL certification, which was introduced by the European Community to mark those products which have a low environmental impact. The decision of Marca Corona to comply with Ecolabel was made deliberately in order to guarantee its customers the certainty of products which are manufactured with full respect for the environment.

Adhering to

Ecolabel is a voluntary choice that Marca Corona has firmly undertaken in order to offer customers environmental-friendly products. The Ecolabel logo is a mark of excellence, which can be granted only to products which feature low environmental impact throughout their entire life span.

Logo GBC ItaliaLEED
The LEED standards (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) are prerequisite for sustainable building which have been developed in the USA by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and adopted in 50 countries across the world. The LEED rating system offers an all-round approach to eco-sustainability taking into consideration the performances of a building under six main requisites.
Thanks to its Ecoliving and Marmo Ecologico collections, which guarantee vital credits for the certification of the buildings using these tiles, Marca Corona is part of the LEED drive. In fact, Marca Corona is an ordinary member of the GBC Italy.

The Ecoliving and Marmo Ecologico collections by Marca Corona are manufactured using recycled material deriving from products of a different industry, therefore they contribute to the achievement of LEED ratings for the buildings in which in which these ceramic products are used, with reference to four requisites:

MATERIALS AND RESOURCES
The floors built using recycled materials deriving from industries other than the ceramic industry itself obtain a higher LEED rating.

INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY
The indoor areas of a building must be healthy and favour the living comfort of end users.

INNOVATION IN DESIGN
The use of modern technologies allows Marca Corona to meet and improve the BAT standards (Best Available Techniques), which define, on an international level, the environmental quality standards of the ceramic production process and create an added value for the allocation of LEED points.

SUSTAINABLE SITES
The objective is the reduction of the “heat island” effect (the thermal gradient difference between urban areas and their confining rural areas) to minimise the impact on the micro-climate.
